Before you purchase any of Fontsmith's OpenType fonts please check
the system requirements and that your current software does not need

Take care to install font families in a single format only, OpenType, PostScript or TrueType.
Macintosh OSX
Before
these fonts can be installed, they must be de-compressed using a
software product called “Stuff-It”. All MAC files that are downloaded
from the WEB site are in a .hqx format (compressed).
If Stuff-It Expander is needed, you can download a FREE version at
http://www.stuffit.com/mac/index.html
In
order to install OpenType fonts, you must be running either Mac OS X,
or running Mac OS 8.6 - OS 9.x with ATM 4.6 installed. If ATM is
needed, you can download the FREE ATM 4.6 “Lite” version.

Installing fonts on OS X.
Save the compressed font file to your desktop, and de-compress using "stuff-it" expander
• Open up Hard Disk.
• Open Up the Library Folder
• Open up the Fonts Folder
• Highlight and drag the .otf file into the FONTS folder.
Note:
Customers can also use, Suitcase, Font Book or other supported font
management software to install their fonts. In these instances, they
should consult the user guide on how the fonts should be installed.
Note: OSX users if you do not see the fonts listed in the menu right away, then you may need to restart your computer.
Macintosh OS 8.6 - OS 9.2.2

Windows 2000, XP
To use the font, you will need to follow each step.
Step 1: WinZip
You will need WinZip to unzip any PC Compressed files. If you don't have WinZip, you can download the free Evaluation at http://www.winzip.com.
Please do this before going to step 2. If you are not sure how to use
WinZip, use the Help button on the WinZip once that it is installed.
Step 2: Extracting the Font from WinZip:
• Double Click on the .zip font file. This will launch WinZip
• Click “I Agree”
• Click Extract
• Type in “Fontsmith” after the c:
• Click Extract
• The font should be in a folder named “Fontsmith” on the C drive
Step 3: Installing Fonts:
•
Click on the start button, roll your mouse over Settings, then click on
Control Panel (On XP OS go to start then click on Control Panel)
• In the Control panel window Double Click on the Fonts Folder
• In the Fonts folder window, click on the File button (top left) –> then click on Install new fonts
• In the Add Fonts window Navigate to the C drive and the "Fontsmith” folder where you extracted the fonts in Step 2
• Double click to open the font folder
• Select all
• Click OK
• You should see the Install bar working
• Now your fonts are activated for use in all your Windows applications
Windows 95, 98, ME, NT
To use the font, you will need to follow each step.
Step 1: WinZip

Step 2: Adobe Type Manager (ATM)

will need ATM, version 4.1 or later, to install OpenType fonts on
Windows 95, 98, ME, NT. If you do not have ATM 4.1, a Lite version is

If you are downloading ATM the first time:
• Download ATM Lite to your desktop
• Unzip it to your program files
• It will start installing by asking questions. Continue clicking Yes or OK
• The file will default right into your Program files. Once you installed ATM, and you restart your system, go to Step 3.
Step 3: Extracting the Font from WinZip:
• Double Click on the .zip font file. This will launch WinZip
• Click “I Agree”
• Click Extract
• Type in “Fontsmith” after the c:
• Click Extract
• The font should be in a folder named “Fontsmith” on the C drive
Step 4: Installing Fonts using Adobe Type Manager
• Launch Adobe Type Manager (Start–>Programs–>Adobe–>Adobe Type Manager)
• In the ATM window, click on the Fonts tab.
• Choose Browse For Fonts from the source pop-up menu. Navigate to the folder that contains the fonts you want to install.
• Click on the font you want to load and click on ADD.
